QNET Highlights of 2012: QNET Gives Back to the Community!

It’s the final week of 2012 – a year marked with moments of success, achievement, pride, joy and togetherness! Let’s countdown to 2013 together with a look at a special QNET highlight of 2012 each day!

From donating vans to beach clean ups to building libraries, 2012 marked a great year for QNET’s CSR efforts all over the world. QNET firmly believes in this simple principle: giving back to the community and helping those less fortunate requires no invitation or occasion.

QNET Sponsors Charity Concert in Kazakhstan

QNET is honoured to have cooperated with Almalinsky District Office in sponsoring a musical charity concert in Kazakhstan. The memorable event in support of children with special needs was held at The Theatre of the Young Spectator in Almaty on April 21, 2012.

More than 300 spectators attended the special event where they were delighted by performances from 50 children age six to 12. The evening was comprised of 10 performances ranging from songs, dances, drama, and also traditional numbers. Read more…

QNET Donates Minivan in Kyrgyz Republic

QNET donated a seven-seat minivan to the Osh House of Babies, located in the southern Kyrgyz city of Osh, to help conveniently and quickly transport unwell children for medical treatment at the Bishkek hospital 300 kilometres away. This special donation will give access to treatment to 154 children, of which 67 are physically disabled or suffering from AIDS. Read more…

Football superstar Vincent Kompany visits Taarana School

On June 7, 2012 as part of a personal tour of Malaysia, Manchester City football team captain, Vincent Kompany, visited Taarana, a school for children with special educational needs established by QNET’s CSR arm Vijayaratnam Foundation (VF).

During the visit to Taarana at Taman OUG , Kompany, 26, held a football clinic with the children, aged between six and 12, who face challenges with delayed development in academic, social and adaptive skills, also known as Mild Intellectual Disability (MID). Read more…

QNET’s ‘Ramadan Bags Convoy’ Feeds Thousands Across Egypt

QNET launched a two-day national feeding programme called The Ramadan Bags Convoy for several of thousands of people in Egypt, in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan.

This initiative was aimed to provide food for the underprivileged to the break their fast. Bags of food have been distributed across the country reaching places such as Benysweif, Qaluobia and Cairo. A team of 50 QNET’s Independent Representatives (IRs) also kindly volunteered to take part in the activity of distribution to ensure the bags reached around 500 families. Read more…

QNET Brings Some Joy to Underpriveleged Children in Jakarta

QNET treated 50 children from the Al-Andalusia Foundation, an Islamic orphanage in Jakarta, to food, fun and games as part of the breaking of fast event during the holy month of Ramadan.

The event, which was carried out under the QNET Pays Forward initiative reflects the company’s strong loyalty and willingness to participate in community efforts in Indonesia. Read more…

QNET Participates in Coastal Clean-up Challenge in Hong Kong

During last week’s 2012 Coastal Clean-Up Challenge in Hong Kong, QNET’s team — consisting of over 100 volunteers including Directors — scoured numerous local beaches to clean up garbage. Collecting a total of 65 kg of garbage including wood, bottles, clothes, boxes, sacks etc., QNET won the Silver Award in the Largest Corporate Group Category! Read more…

QNET and RYTHM Foundation Bring the Gift of Education to Children in India

QNET through RYTHM Foundation embarked on a joint venture with the Avalokitesvara Trust in India to support the trust’s project of building libraries in fifteen rural schools in the Ladakh region of the country, which lacks facilities for educational support.

With the installation of the libraries, the children will be provided with new, informative learning materials giving them access to the most precious gift of all — education. The project will also focus on conducting learning modules like drama workshops, medical camps, and empowering Ladakhi teachers. Read more…
