House of Refuge Foundation, Inc (HORFI) sponsored a block screening of the movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time on 28 May 2010 at 7PM at SM Cinema, The Block, North Edsa in Quezon City, the Philippines. The event was a fund-raising activity for the benefit of the children under the care of their residential facility in Marikina City.
QNet made a donation and was one of the major sponsors of the event along with San Miguel Corporation, Orinda Land Corporation, Euro-Med Laboratories and Stradcom Corporation, among others. QNet’s sponsorship was endorsed by RYTHM Foundation Trustee and QNet Executive Chairperson Ms Donna Imson and the QI Group’s Regional Director for the Philippines Mr TG Kintanar.
HORFI is a non-government child-caring institution licensed and accredited by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and is duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). It is a non-stock, non-profit organisation that is supported mainly through donations, bequests, tithes or offerings by corporate/individual members, friends and supporters.
For almost 24 years now, HORFI has been reaching out to the orphaned, abandoned, neglected, abused and surrendered children by providing them services like home-life, spiritual development, formal and non-formal education, health and nutrition, socio-cultural/recreational activities, psychological services, and other social work interventions. Their residential facility has the capability to shelter 36 girls and boys aged 4 to 17 years old.
