Today goes down in cricketing history as the day one of the greatest bowlers of all times bids goodbye to Test Cricket in style by reaching a new landmark!

Earlier this month, the legendary cricketer and QNet’s newest Brand Ambassador, Muttiah Muralidaran – or ‘Murali’ as he is known – announced his retirement from Test cricket, where he already held the world record for the highest number of wickets taken, at an amazing 792!  Today, in his final Test match for Sri Lanka against India in the city of Galle in Sri Lanka, Murali made an even more spectacular mark in sporting history by going for the record 800th wicket!

Muttiah Muralidaran, who began his cricketing career in 1991, ends his nearly two decade long innings in test cricket on a high as Sri Lanka won the match against India at the Galle International Stadium. Murali was given a lap of honour by his team mates who hauled him up on their shoulders and the fans at Galle stood up as one to applaud the master!

QNet salutes its Brand Ambassador who is also the world record holder for the highest wickets taken in One Day International cricket at 512.

Congratulations Murali! QNet is proud to be associated with you as you write a new page in history.
