RYTHM Foundation Donates Aid for Pakistan Flood Victims

It all began in July, when heavy monsoon rains hit many regions of Pakistan, creating flash floods that decimated the country. In the months that have followed, more than 20 million people have been affected by the floods and over 1.8 million houses remain damaged or destroyed.

Understanding that urgent help was needed, RYTHM Foundation donated USD 40,000 (Rupees 3.4 million) to the United Nations (UN) World Food Programme’s (WFP) Floods in Pakistan project last month.

Mr Richard Zinkiewicz, a Foundation Trustee, said that RYTHM Foundation would continue to raise the much-needed funds for the project through the combined efforts of RYTHM, QNet and corporate staff alike, in the hopes of raising a long-term target of USD 300,000 in total donations.

“The calamity in Pakistan has touched our management and staff around the world. We are concerned for our colleagues and friends in Pakistan and feel strongly that we have to provide the country with immediate assistance, especially to overcome food shortages,” he said.

The Pakistan floods have so far left more than 20 million people in need of emergency aid. The WFP is leading the support services to the humanitarian community at operational hubs in Islamabad, Peshawar, Sukkur and Multan.
