G’day Australia!!! A beautiful day marks the historic start to the 2013 Formula 1 season in sunny Melbourne today. After months and months of practice and preparation, 11 Formula 1 teams and 22 drivers from all over the globe have been gathering in Australia this week, all in the hope of starting the season with a fast and furious race on the F1 race circuit of Albert Park Lake street track.
The Marussia F1 Team heads to the curtain-raiser with more than 4000 kms of testing mileage to its name with some very encouraging performances from the brand spanking new MR02 racing machine, alongside the team’s new, young, fresh talent, 21 year old Brit Max Chilton and 23 year old Frenchman Jules Bianchi.
Although, F1 representatives all over the globe have shared similar thoughts of uncertainty about the 2013 Formula 1 ROLEX Australian Grand Prix; what can we expect?
Well we can be sure to expect a fantastic atmosphere in Melbourne with breath-taking views of the Albert Park Lake, surrounded by a lively, cosmopolitan city that simply loves seeing Formula 1 roll into town each year! With the country’s legion of motorsport fans, and the warm welcome that the teams receive every year, it’s not difficult to understand why Australia has been chosen to host 29 of the FIA Formula One World Championship events since 1985!
So let the fun and games begin! Here we come for 19 races of twists and sharp turns with only the best of the racing players on track. Come rain or shine, be sure that VFan (me!) will be there to report every moment of the heart stopping action and latest F1 news.
