5 Steps To Turn Your Picky Eaters Into Veggie Lovers
There is a certain joy that comes with watching our kids grow up to become the little individuals that they are meant to be, to develop their own quirks and personalities and to discover what they like and what they dislike. As a parent, it can be frustrating to see them become fussy eaters. Suddenly, the dining table is a battlefield and our loyal ally for our precious ones’ good health ends up their sworn enemy: vegetables.
When it comes to providing proper nutrients for our young ones, we have a few tricks up our sleeves. EDG3 Junior immunity booster for kids is one of them. EDG3 Junior provides the right nutrition for daily glutathione production, which is needed for optimum growth and development. Here are a few more tips on how to make sure our young ones finish their greens:
1. Make vegetables look more fun
Presentation matters to the little ones as much as they do to a food critic. It’s amazing what a little creativity can do! Cut vegetables in fun shapes. Create pretty plates that feature an animal or an object with a variety of colours.
Pro-tip: Play with texture to give your kid a full sensory experience!
2. Bank on veggie-fruit combos
Children may not like vegetables a lot, but they sure like fruits — the sweet, the tart, and everything in between! Combining veggies with fruits allows flavours ease into palates easier. Make a smoothie with watermelons and cucumbers. Skewer some grape, lettuce and tomato kebabs. Whip up a mango and bell pepper tortilla.
3. Add an extra flavour to the mix
Whether savoury or sweet, veggies become oh-so-yummy with a little dip or sauce. A hit with everyone (from those in their terrible twos to those in their preteen tens), something served on the side makes vegetables suddenly very interesting. Come up with homemade dressing made with other vegetables as well.
4. Introduce something unusual
There’s nothing like intrigue to entice a child into trying something new. There are vegetables that look so unique, they’re bound to pique interest. Serve some samphire, Romanesco or some purple carrots for lunch and watch those eyes go wide!
Getting your kids to love vegetables may take time but until they do, make sure to keep giving them EDG3 Junior, and don’t forget to eat healthily. If you have more tips for our QNET parents, please let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you.
