HomePure Nova Bags Prestigious NSF and Water Quality Association Certifications

HomePure Nova is an IR favourite for a reason – not only is it the perfect water filter all homes and offices, but it is also now the world’s first-ever ultrafiltration water filter that has been certified by the Water Quality Association (WQA). You heard right, the WORLD’s FIRST EVER! The HomePure Nova has been certified for the reduction of pathogenic bacteria, viruses and cysts with the certification. Your favourite water filter has also bagged the NSF/ANSI 401, 53 and 42 certifications which means it protects you from emerging contaminants and is certified for health and sanitation.

What Is The NSF?

Founded in 1944, NSF International is an independent accreditation agency that extensively tests water treatment products to ensure consumers are guaranteed great quality and safe products that do what they say they’re going to do. NSF is also the leading global provider of public health and safety risk management solutions.

The Threat Of Emerging Contaminants

You can’t watch or read the news today without coming across a report about the presence of new contaminants in drinking water that we were previously unaware of. Some of the most common but invisible contaminants include pesticides, herbicides, prescription drugs and detergents. Most of these regular contaminants have fallen under two categories based on what it affects – health or taste.

However, emerging contaminants have been put under a new category of concerns over water quality. This is because while trace evidence of these contaminants has been detected in our drinking water, their precise negative effects have not yet been established. Therefore, a separate testing standard was developed to specifically monitor and protect from the threat of emerging contaminants.

What Does The NSF/ANSI 401 Mean?

Our HomePure Nova has an NSF/ANSI 401 certification which is an American National Standard for water quality. Having this certification means that the HomePure Nova is verified for its ability to reduce up to 15 contaminants from this list of emerging contaminants. The 15 contaminants include prescription and over the counter drugs, new types of herbicides and pesticides, chemicals used as flame retardants, and detergents.

QNET’s HomePure Nova can be found on NSF’s drinking water listings page.

What About HomePure Nova’s New NSF/ANSI P231 Certification?

HomePure Nova’s NSF/ANSI P231 Certification means that it has been certified for health and sanitation characteristics of microbiological water purifiers based on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) recommendations in its Task Force Report – Guide Standard and Protocol for Testing Microbiological Water Purifiers (1987).

What Is The Water Quality Association (WQA)?

As a non-profit association for the residential, commercial and industrial water treatment industry, the Water Quality Association (WQA) offers an independent deal of approval for water filters. The seal of approval is only rewarded after rigorous lab tests and materials assessments have been completed. Apart from being a certifier of water treatment products, the WQA is also an educator of water treatment professionals, a public information resource and the voice of the industry of water quality improvement!

What Certification Has HomePure Nova Received From The WQA?

HomePure Nova is tested and certified by the WQA for NSF/ANSI P231 and P244, a certification that ensures that the HomePure water filter reduces pathogenic bacteria, viruses and cysts that may be present in your drinking water. The HomePure Nova even appears under the Certified Microbiological Water Purifiers List on the WQA website.

The NSF and WQA certifications of the HomePure Nova are consumer trust marks that guarantee our product claims are true. This is proof that at QNET, your trust is as important to us as your wellness.
