As part of our ongoing International Women’s Day celebrations, QNET Russia honoured mothers by organising a charity event at a non-profit called Little Mother. The event saw much laughter, cheering, and joy among the young women who were being treated during this special occasion.
Little mother is a non-governmental organisation that is a special home for young mothers under the age of 23. These young mothers find themselves in difficult situations, and find shelter at this charity. Because of its existence and the work they do, the NGO prevents child abandonment and helps with child mortality.
QNET Russia Head of Marketing and PR Irina Polyakova kicked the International Women’s Day celebrations off by greeting the participants, and giving them an inspiring speech about the importance of setting goals and going after them. The introduction was followed by a master class, where the young mums were taught how to hand-make jewellery. This was a skills class that would give them the opportunity to not only pick up a new hobby but to also use it as an additional source of income if required.
As a gift to mark the occasion, the young women were presented with workshop opportunities of their choice – either a course on mobile photography or a course on a foreign language. As it happens, the opportunities to become bloggers, have online stores, have a strong Instagram presence are ever-increasing. Equipped with the skills of mobile photography, and a second language, they would just be one step closer to creating their own business and developing a personal brand.
The ladies were then treated to a high tea that included a hot brew and a QNET branded cake.
To ensure that the mothers and their precious little ones always have access to clean, tasty and purified water, QNET gifted a HomePure Nova water filter to the crisis centre.
The Deputy Director of Little Mother Valentina Knyazeva said, “The International Women’s Day event on March 8th organised by QNET brought joy to our wards and was met with great interest by our young mothers. The ladies really enjoyed their master class and I’m sure that they will use those skills in the future.”
Through this activity, QNET Russia honours mothers globally, especially during this month-long celebration of women. Empowering women worldwide is one of the most important areas in QNET’s RYTHM themed activities, and we will never stop in our mission to help women, and celebrate them in whatever ways we can. International Women’s Day is just one such occasion to honour these brilliant, often invisible heroes of our lives.
