Direct Selling and QNETPRO, our professional marketing pledge, go hand in hand at QNET. In this interview, V Partner Donna Imson-Lecaroz talks in-depth about what direct selling and QNETPRO is, the FAQs on the industry and the business model, and what leadership means to her. Let’s hear what V Partner Donna Imson-Lecaroz has to say!
What Is Direct Selling?
Direct Selling is an alternative way of distributing products to the traditional way which includes buying a product from the manufacturer but through a whole host of middlemen. In the traditional method, there’s profit made every time there’s a change of hands, so you end up paying all surcharges instead of the actual price of the product.
As the word itself suggests, there are no middlemen in direct selling. There’s a direct connection. Direct Selling not only frees up the layers between the manufacturer and the consumer but it also makes available all of the money that would’ve been used for overheads, advertising and promotion. This freed up money is reallocated as commissions to direct sellers and distributors.
Why Is It Often Misunderstood?
I actually think that Direct Selling is the most misunderstood and least understood business of all because of a few people who misrepresent the business opportunity as a get-rich-quick scheme. The fact is, however, that Direct Selling is a legitimate business, and just like with any other business, products must be sold.
What makes direct selling stand out is that you don’t need a brick-and-mortar setup. When people don’t see a storefront, they assume it is a scam. But it isn’t. Direct selling is an opportunity to work anywhere and at any time.
Why Is It Important To Know And Understand The Products?
The lifeline of QNET is our products. You cannot earn anything when there are no products sold. All income that we generate comes from our products being sold. Simply put, if you want to earn more, sell more. And the best way to sell these products is to totally embrace them. Selling a product you’ve never tried first hand is not as effective as when you sell something you’ve used and believe in. You need the products to be your products first – use them, be believers of them, be a product of your product. This means that you’re not really selling the products so much as you are sharing your favourite products with the people that you love, and whose life you want to change.
Why Should People Follow Rules While Working On The Business?
Rules are good because rules create a safety net. Just like in a family, with my children, they need to know those rules to know ‘this is where the line is, this is where it is safe and this is where it is not’, this is what’s acceptable and this is what’s not acceptable. When rules are clearly drawn out, then the people in that environment have the confidence and a sense of security to say that if do this right, it’s all going to be okay. So, rules are good because it’s meant to protect you and it’s meant to give you the confidence to build and build big.
What is QNETPRO?
Direct Selling and QNETPRO are two sides to the same coin. You cannot find long-lasting success in direct selling without adopting ethical marketing methods. If you’re a person who wants to build this business, and build it to last, then you need to upgrade your way of thinking so that your number one priority is to represent the QNET opportunity legitimately. You need to build your team with transparency and servant leadership, without using the crutch of shortcuts or misrepresentation.
So, QNETPRO is a path that will take you from where you are today, and lead you to a journey where you become a professional IR and direct seller. Just remember, that like with any other profession, it takes a lot of time, a lot of training, a lot of energy, a lot of practice to become a pro, but in the end, all of that patience and hard work will pay off.
What Are The Responsibilities Of A Leader When It Comes To Ensuring That Their Teams Practice QNETPRO?
There is an ancient saying that a fish rots from the head down. Similarly, in direct selling, the quality of the leader determines the quality and success of the team. The QNET business is dependent on the leader because people often imitate the leader. To make sure that our team is doing the business effectively, it starts with us as leaders being good role models. A leader is one who not only creates that right path for their team to follow but also one who leads by example.
As a leader, you are responsible for practising what you preach because it doesn’t make sense for you to train your people on ethical marketing if you’re not doing it yourself. This is a business of duplication and what people duplicate is not what they hear but what they see you do. Your second responsibility is to make sure that you hold ourselves and your team to a higher standard. We might all have different standards personally but when it comes to our business, the ‘we’ or the team is greater than the individual. A leader is also responsible for making sure that the team goes through the right training, and that the right practices are being followed. So, teaching supporting, coaching, counselling, monitoring and enforcing are all the leader’s responsibilities.
