Last weekend Marussia took the fight to their arch enemy Caterham in Austin, Texas – and won! This weekend they’ll aim to keep them in check for the season finale at the Formula 1 Grande Premio Petrobras do Brasil 2013.
In Texas, Jules Bianchi remained ahead of both van der Garde and Pic from Caterham from lights to flag, finishing in 18th position– Superb effort!
Unfortunately, Max had a much more difficult task heading into the race as he would face a drive-through penalty imposed after the qualifying session.
“I think we can all be proud that we have held 10th place all season so that’s what everyone has in their sights. Interlagos is another great circuit that I will relish driving for the first time, but I think the expected wet weather will make it a less than straightforward weekend up and down the field” says Max.
Team Principal John Booth gave a hint of excitement ahead for the 2014 season in relation to the positive result in Texas.
“We were aided by some late developments that we have brought to the car thanks to the considerable efforts of the factory, who have achieved this performance increment whilst also trying to juggle the preparation of the 2014 car. This underlines just how much we are pushing to finish strong in 2013, and for next season.”
