This is really great news for fans of Al Sadd football club as their team has made it through the Semi-Finals of the 2011 AFC Champions League! Qatar’s Al Sadd was successful at fending off Iran’s Foolad Sepahan comeback last Wednesday at Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

Doha was set on fire when the clash started, as both teams tried to secure their place to the coveted Semi-Finals. Two weeks ago in the first leg of Quarter-Finals, Foolad Sepahan actually won 1-0 at the Foolad Shahr Stadium, but were later penalised for having an ineligible player fielded in the game and Al Sadd were awarded a 3-0 victory instead. Though it seems easier for Al Sadd with three scores already, it was Foolad Sepaphan who scored first in the second leg of the Quarter-Finals on Wednesday.

Foolad Sepaphan’s hope was restored in the first 27 minutes, when Emad Mohammed and Hassan Jafari scored twice for the Iranians. Al Sadd scored their only goal just four nail-biting minutes from the end of the match, leaving them still behind 1-2. However, even though they lost the match, Qatar’s Al Sadd had their scores in the first leg 3-0, making them win 4-2 on aggregate and affirming their meeting with Korea’s Suwon Samsung Bluewings in the Semi-Finals round.

So be prepared for the Semi-Finals on Wednesday, 19 October 2011, as it is going to be insanely fun! Proudly brought to you by QNet, the official direct selling supporter of the AFC Champions League!
