QNET admitted to Digital Commerce Association of the Philippines
QNET Philippines has become a member of the Digital Commerce Association of the Philippines (DCOM) at a meeting in Makati City last week.
Representing QNET Philippines was Chairman, General Dioscoro L Yoro, Jr who took the membership oath with representatives of other new member companies on 23 January 2014.
Representatives discussed the current situation and landscape of eCommerce in the Philippines and heard forecasts that will shape the industry locally and globally.
DCOM is a private non-stock, non-profit organisation founded by key players in the Philippine eCommerce industry.
The organisation promotes and advocates digital commerce in the country by:
- establishing standards and best practices for a friendly and secure digital commerce industry
- teaching Filipino Merchants how to leverage digital commerce
- making the Philippine digital commerce industry attractive for trade and investment, and
- partnering with government in shaping sound digital commerce policy.
The current roster of members include Avon Cosmetics, CashCash Pinoy, eLearning Edge, Ensogo, ShoPinas.Com and LBC Express.
DCOM is supported by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Last year, DTI Secretary Gregorio Domingo expressed the government’s support for the organisation’s goals. He also highlighted the importance of eCommerce in pushing for the growth of the retail industry in the country.
