As the underlying philosophy that has always been woven in all operations and beliefs of the QI Group and its subsidiaries, RYTHM or ‘Raise Yourself To Help Mankind’ has been the credo for many widespread educational, environmental, cultural, and disaster relief philanthropic initiatives realised by the Group through its Corporate Social Responsibility arm, RYTHM Foundation. One programme, the QNet Pays Forward (QNPF) initiative, allows the Group’s flagship subsidiary, QNet, to be a financial supporter and resource provider for disadvantaged communities and societies by enjoining QNet corporate staff and Independent Representatives around the world to ‘pay it forward’ through their voluntary fundraising which is then matched by QNet.
In Thailand, the QNet Pays Forward initiative has made substantial contributions to help numerous underprivileged and disabled youth invarious schools and charitiesaround the nation. Some of the projects undertaken in the recent years are:
- Donation of toys, sports equipment, food, household necessities, and games to the Bangkok School for the Blind.
- Donation of basic necessities, food, essential learning/teaching equipment, and money to two schools, the Baan Pang Da School and the Home for the Blind with Multiple Disabilities (one of the projects of the Christian Foundation for the Blind in Thailand), under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King.
- Donation of USD 8,500 to the Thongchai Jaidee Charity, established by Thai golf professional Thongchai Jaidee for the benefit of Pan Din Hai Pen Dao (turn the ‘Clay’ to the ‘Star’).
During a training programme for network leaders held last 17-22 November 2010 by the InService Brotherhood (ISB), QNet had another opportunity to give back to the community of Thailand. The ISB Boot Camp V which took place at Sattahip in Chonburi, Thailand, marked the first time a foreign group was allowed to conduct activities inside the premises of Thailand’s largest naval base.
This unprecedented occasion prompted QNet and RYTHM Foundation to act on their commitment to RYTHM by pledging 100,000 Baht to the Royal Thai Navy through the QNet Pays Forward initiative, which will assist the Naval Civil Affairs Department in its fundraising activities for the Thai Red Cross. QNet Managing Director Mr JR Mayer presented the cheque to Director General Radm. Chumphol Wongwakin, who also received the prestigious H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej 80th Anniversary Watch. The historical masterpiece, presented during the Auspicious Occasion of the 80th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on 5 December 2007, is manufactured by Swiss watch brand CIMIER whilst the fine gold medallion on its dial is minted by B.H. Mayer’s Mint – Germany, a world-leading private mint.
