Terengganu created history by winning their first double title – topping the League and being overall champions of the Malaysian Hockey League. Terengganu ended the domination of their opponent and four-time double champions, Kuala Lumpur by winning 2-1 in a penalty shootout after both teams were tied 3-3 in over overtime.
The final was telecast live by local broadcaster, Astro Arena.
