QNET donates minivan for sick children in Kyrgyz Republic
QNET believes everyone can do his or her part to help those less fortunate and make our world a better place to live in. Earlier this month, QNET donated a seven-seat minivan to the Osh House of Babies, located in the southern Kyrgyz city of Osh, to help conveniently and quickly transport unwell children for medical treatment at the Bishkek hospital 300 kilometres away. This special donation will give access to treatment to 154 children, of which 67 are physically disabled or suffering from AIDS. QNET representative, Bernhard H. Mayer, who handed over the keys of the van to the Osh House of Babies administrators, said that the donation was the first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project organised by the Kyrgyz Republic.
“When we asked them what they needed, they said currently they have to rely on taxis or the bus service to ferry sick children to the Bishkek hospital,” he said.
“The 300-kilometre journey is very inconvenient, especially when sick children have to travel there regularly for follow-up treatments. As a means of transport is desperately needed, we decided to donate this minivan,” he added.
The donation is in line with QNET’s corporate philosophy of RYTHM – Raise Yourself To Help Mankind – and is the first of many projects that the company plans to carry out over the next few years in the country. QNET has implemented CSR initiatives all over the world, including in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia through its CSR arm, RYTHM Foundation.
