QNET Wins Silver Award In 2012 Coastal Clean-Up Challenge in Hong Kong!
During last week’s 2012 Coastal Clean-Up Challenge in Hong Kong, QNET’s team — consisting of over 100 volunteers including Directors — scoured numerous local beaches to clean up garbage. Collecting a total of 65 kg of garbage including wood, bottles, clothes, boxes, sacks etc., QNET won the Silver Award in the Largest Corporate Group Category!
As a post-event action, the Hong Kong team submitted their garbage data to the Hong Kong Clean-Up Organisation. This significantly added to the pool of knowledge about the surrounding waste in Hong Kong that is being shared with scientists, politicians and community members to further their efforts and studies on waste management.
The day ended on a high note with the award ceremony, which was held at the Shore Bar & Restaurant on Queens Road, Central, and in attendance were QNET CSR Committee Chairman Jeannie Tan, HR&A Manager Eleanor Chan and QI HR Processes and Practices Manager Ikki Yuen.
The ceremony was emcee’d by TV host and Coastal Cleanup Celebrity Ambassador Lisa Selesner. There was also a special performance given by City Cleanup Celebrity Ambassador Jun Kung! The event included a fabulous eco-fashion show featuring Hong Kong’s top models wearing recycled couture by renowned designer Karta Healy.
In recognising the need to preserve and protect the earth’s vital natural resources, QNET has always tried to support environment conservation activities such as this and will continue to do so.
