Jules, Max and the Team have come away from Melbourne over the weekend unscathed and well placed for the second episode in Malaysia!
A worse outcome was feared at the beginning of the race when both Ferarri powered cars experienced engine kills.
Max managed to start the race from the pit lane and finished in 14th position while Jules didn’t make it out of the garage until 6 laps into the race, finally finishing but not being placed. See full results table.
“After a tough time in testing when we did not achieve all the mileage we had hoped for, it’s good to take home a 14th place finish from the first race. It’s a nice reward for all the hard work across the whole Team,” says Driver, Max Chilton.
Max’s counterpart, Jule’s Bianchi, was philosophical.
“In many ways it was more like a test than a race for me, but as is the case in testing, the mileage was important and will be crucial for the engineers to move us forward. Hopefully I will benefit from this next time. I am pleased that we have some reward for all the hard work and we look forward to better things in Malaysia” says Jules.
NEXT RACE: Malaysia, the home of QNET and QI’s biggest global operations, will play host to the second episode for the 2014 FORMULA 1 PETRONAS MALAYSIA GRAND PRIX.
