Kobe Bryant

There’s no better way to celebrate the life and legacy of Kobe Bryant, former Los Angeles Lakers basketball star, than through the lessons he’s taught us through his own motivational words. While his untimely death has shaken the world, we can honour the contributions of the five-time world-champion by reflecting on these unforgettable and hard-hitting Kobe Bryant quotes.

On Leadership

“To be an effective leader, you have to be a really good listener and not to what’s being said, but to what’s not being said. You have to be really observant. That was a big transition for me. I went from being a scorer and a floor general … to being a leader and that meant putting others first. That means not worrying about are you in rhythm, are you playing well in this game, are you ready to go, to being, are they ready? What can I do to help them be ready?”

This lesson from Kobe Bryant can be applied directly to our direct selling journey. If we wish to be successful and achieve a higher rank, we need to help more of our team advance to higher ranks. We need to be aware of the skills of our team – have they had the training to conduct their own presentations, are they well-versed in the ins and outs of the QNET Compensation Plan, are they familiar with our QNETPRO pledge, and are they up to date with QNET product know-how? All of this is what it takes to be a great and successful network marketing leader.

My girls and I want to thank the millions of people who’ve shown support and love during this horrific time. Thank you for all the prayers. We definitely need them. We are completely devastated by the sudden loss of my adoring husband, Kobe — the amazing father of our children; and my beautiful, sweet Gianna — a loving, thoughtful, and wonderful daughter, and amazing sister to Natalia, Bianka, and Capri. We are also devastated for the families who lost their loved ones on Sunday, and we share in their grief intimately. There aren’t enough words to describe our pain right now. I take comfort in knowing that Kobe and Gigi both knew that they were so deeply loved. We were so incredibly blessed to have them in our lives. I wish they were here with us forever. They were our beautiful blessings taken from us too soon. I’m not sure what our lives hold beyond today, and it’s impossible to imagine life without them. But we wake up each day, trying to keep pushing because Kobe, and our baby girl, Gigi, are shining on us to light the way. Our love for them is endless — and that’s to say, immeasurable. I just wish I could hug them, kiss them and bless them. Have them here with us, forever. Thank you for sharing your joy, your grief and your support with us. We ask that you grant us the respect and privacy we will need to navigate this new reality. To honor our Team Mamba family, the Mamba Sports Foundation has set up the MambaOnThree Fund to help support the other families affected by this tragedy. To donate, please go to MambaOnThree.org. To further Kobe and Gianna’s legacy in youth sports, please visit MambaSportsFoundation.org. Thank you so much for lifting us up in your prayers, and for loving Kobe, Gigi, Natalia, Bianka, Capri and me. #Mamba #Mambacita #GirlsDad #DaddysGirls #Family ❤️

“We all can be masters at our craft, but you have to make a choice. What I mean by that is, there are inherent sacrifices that come along with that. Family time, hanging out with friends, being a great friend, being a great son, nephew, whatever the case may be. There are sacrifices that come along with making that decision.”

Being an entrepreneur and a distributor means you have to work non-traditional hours to find success. Weekends and public holidays are often the best times for delivering presentations and attending training sessions. Your family and friends may take time to accept this schedule. However, sacrificing a routine will lead you to greater freedom once you’ve built the right foundation, making all of this worth it.

We send our love to Vanessa, the Bryant family, and to the families of the other passengers. Words cannot express what Kobe means to the Los Angeles Lakers, our fans, and our city. More than a basketball player, he was a beloved father, husband, and teammate. Their love and light will remain in our hearts forever. The Mamba Sports Foundation has set up the MambaOnThree Fund to support the families affected by this tragedy. To help, please visit MambaOnThree.org. “You’ve got to step up and play, man. You can’t worry about criticism. You can’t worry about failure. You really can’t worry about that stuff. You’ve got to go out and figure that out and play and do the best you can, and whatever happens, happens. You can’t be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.”

Overcoming the real-life fears we face as direct sellers is a real challenge when you’re always worried about failing. But have you ever thought – “What if I succeed?” Don’t worry about what people may say, and pay no heed to judgemental opinions. Equip yourself with facts about direct selling and QNET, and give direct selling a chance. At the very least, you’ll gain first-hand experience on running your own business.

On Resilience

“I’m here. I’m not going anywhere. No matter what the injury — unless it’s completely debilitating — I’m going to be the same player I’ve always been. I’ll figure it out. I’ll make some tweaks, some changes, but I’m still coming.”

Network marketing is not an easy path to follow. It requires hard work and the willingness to overcome every roadblock that comes your way. In the beginning, you will also have to put up with meetings after meetings, trainings after trainings, rejections after rejections. But if you are resilient, success beyond measure is yours for the taking.

On Teamwork

“The important thing is that your teammates have to know you’re pulling for them and you really want them to be successful.”

Without a team, success in a networking business is near impossible. Build and nurture your team like you would your own family. Keep an open communication going with your team, talk to your uplines and downlines often, share your challenges with each other, and have each other’s backs.

On Perseverance

“I’ve played with IVs before, during and after games. I’ve played with a broken hand, a sprained ankle, a torn shoulder, a fractured tooth, a severed lip, and a knee the size of a softball. I don’t miss 15 games because of a toe injury that everybody knows wasn’t that serious in the first place.”

Just like with any other business venture or project you are passionate about, direct selling isn’t going to be a cake-walk. But don’t ever give up. Keep hustling because every day you are taking one step closer to achieving your dreams.

Not only was Kobe Bryant an influential athlete, but he was also an activist, a businessman who invested millions in projects that made a difference, and most importantly he was known as a selfless dad, team player, husband, and all-round good guy. May he rest in power.
