QNET sponsored a match in the Egyptian Premier League, expanding our Sports Sponsorships portfolio around the world. All football fans in Egypt were witness to the QNET logo which was proudly displayed not only on the LED board at the boundary of the football field but also on static boards. The match was televised live on the day, and was also published on the Al- Ahly Football Club’s YouTube channel, which is the fifth most-watched channel in the world.
The Egyptian Premier League Match With QNET Displays
The league is the top level of the Egyptian football league system, and comprises of 18 teams. It is considered one of the top national leagues in Africa. QNET IRs worldwide, and fans of the Egyptian Premier League, were treated to bold displays of the QNET logo during a match between the Al Ahly Football SC and Pyramids FC in the 30 June Stadium. The match ended 0-0 after full time.
The Al Ahly football club was founded in 1907, is based in Cairo and is in the top tier of the league. The football club has a record of 42 national league titles, 37 national cup titles, and 11 national super cup titles, making them the most decorated club in Egypt. Al Ahly is the most successful club in the world in terms of number of trophies won and, second in terms of international titles won with 25, behind only Real Madrid with 26.
They have also won a record nine CAF Champions League titles. If you remember, QNET is also the official sponsor of The Confederation of African Football (CAF), the biggest of the six continental confederations of FIFA. Al Ahly has even won a bronze medal in the 2006 FIFA Club World Cup. Pyramid FC is also based in Cairo and are currently fifth in the Egyptian Premier League. The 30 June Stadium is their home stadium.
