Kolkata, a vibrant 350-year-old metropolis, is located on India’s Eastern Coast and is known to be the face of West Bengal. Being the capital and the largest city of West Bengal, Kolkata is home to many tourist destinations. As the famous sayings go, “if you want a city with a soul, come to Calcutta”. The streets of Kolkata are colourful, busy, hectic, yet teeming with life and creativity. It offers an excellent brew of gorgeous mountain views, tourist excursions, waterfalls, shopping, Buddhist monasteries, museums, and delectable Tibetan cuisine. Most surprisingly, the Sundarbans is said to be a part of the largest mangrove islands in the world, formed by the Ganges, Brahmaputra, and Meghna Rivers. Sandakphu is West Bengal’s highest peak and offers a stunning view of four of the world’s highest peaks.
