A preliminary research by Child’s Dream Foundation (CDF), discovered a tragic statistic stating that six out of 100 children under the age of six living in parts of the Mekong Sub Region, lose their lives to preventable and treatable diseases. Infants and children with congenital defects in these areas are unable to access crucial life-saving treatments due to lack of medical expertise and facilities.
The Child’s Dream Foundation focuses on improving the health, education, and well-being of underprivileged children in the Mekong Region, comprising Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Thailand. The cooperation between CDF‘s Children Medical Fund and RYTHM Foundation assists with the surgical costs for children from Myanmar and Laos who have been diagnosed with critical congenital birth defects.
This past August, a huge sum was contributed by RYTHM Foundation to fund the medical treatment of six young children suffering from conditions such as cardiac disorder and spinal bifida.
The donation will be used to fund medical and travel costs for the six children and their parents or caregivers to Thailand, where the surgeries will be performed. Subsequently, lengthy follow-up treatments will take place. The entire procedure usually happens over the course of two to four weeks. During this time, the young patients and their parents require all the support they can get.
The CDF team accompanies children on their journey to recovery. Throughout this period, the foundation’s medically trained team assists as translators to ensure that language barriers would not get in the way of the treatment process. The team also plays a critical role in providing emotional support to parents and caregivers, who go through immense stress during this trying time.
RYTHM Foundation has joined hands with CDF since 2016 in assisting impoverished locals with numerous community development projects such as building schools in remote and isolated areas in Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia. Therefore, RYTHM Foundation’s contribution to the Children’s Medical Fund marks a milestone with CDF in healthcare initiatives.
RYTHM, short for Raise Yourself to Help Mankind, was founded on the principles of compassion, generosity, and a desire to bring about positive change in the world. RYTHM seeks to build on its continuous efforts by improving livelihoods and empowering communities towards a sustainable future.
