Akash Singh is a magnificent example of someone who came from humble beginnings and succeeded by embracing the QNET business opportunity. Being in QNET has helped him realise his true potential in direct selling and achieve the Platinum Star rank as part of the Achievers’ Club. In this interview, he shares about his journey in QNET, and how it has helped him change his perception of the direct selling industry.
Life Before QNET
Hailing from a city called Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh in India. Akash Singh started off as a software engineer in the IT industry after finishing his graduation from Chennai. Even though he liked his job since it served the purpose of earning a livelihood, it was still the same mediocre routine every day for him. He certainly had greater aspirations. He could think only of putting more effort into his existing job to fulfil his dreams.
Akash Singh discovered QNET through his friend, who became his upline. “We worked in the same office. I got to know that he started something on his own and that made me curious. I was hungry to do something different, and I was willing to give it a try because all I knew was that I needed some changes in my life. One day, he told me that he started a business, and that got me excited without knowing what it was about. We were regular friends that didn’t share much, but I urged him to share it with me.”
Akash recalls scheduling the meeting with his friend in Chennai. “I went there casually dressed, with my girlfriend who is my wife today. My friend shared plenty of things with me, and he said that if I wanted to make changes in my life, I need to look for different options, and he was absolutely right!”
His first impression about QNET was not the brightest. As misconception continues to surround the direct selling industry, he felt this opportunity was too good to be true, and that there was no way this is sustainable given that many people think that way, too. However, the reassurance that kept him going was that if this was not a legitimate business, it wouldn’t have survived this long. And today, he has been with QNET for six and a half years.
Akash also faced many rejections and obstacles. At times people who were there along with him would leave and that would force him to start from scratch again. When asked what kept him focused on his goal, he said “The first thing is poverty. I came from a very humble background, but thanks to God, I lived a comfortable life, although we still needed to financially manage things within the family, and there was certainly a struggle along the way. The second is my mother. She preferred to see me in the corporate field because that would’ve been the safest choice. My parents worked hard to raise us and give us the best life that they could, but I wanted them to have something more in return. When I began earning money, I didn’t go on vacations, but my parents did!”
Becoming A QNET Achiever
Akash believes that we need to take ownership of our own lives to be an Achiever, and that takes a lot of discipline. If you want consistent growth, you need to have a strong discipline of what you want to achieve, and that goal must be something you are constantly focused on. It is also important for him to be surrounded by like-minded individuals who have already made it big. He looks to Chief Pathman Senathirajah and V Partner Sachin Gupta as inspirations and mentors.
“As a QNET Achiever, you will inspire a lot of people. You will lead them and show them the right things about the business. Not all of us are born with a silver spoon, but that doesn’t mean we should die mediocre. I used to believe that one person can’t make a difference, but I have evolved since then, and I know that anything is possible.”
Although Akash Singh’s journey of becoming a QNET Achiever has met many obstacles along the way, he has proven that with hard work and the right attitude and goal, it is undoubtedly possible to achieve success.
